In 1946, Caesar and Marie Favarato established the company as Hollywood Tile & Terrazzo. Some notable commercial projects included the Diplomat Hotel, the Eden Rock Hotel on Miami Beach and the Miami Beach Convention Center. Then in 1978, their daughter, Laura, kept the family tradition alive when she and her husband Sam purchased the business from the Favarato's and renamed it The Flooring Center, Inc. To stay current with changing market trends, the scope of installation changed through the years to chattahoochee, ceramic, marble, tile, wood, carpet, vinyl, Uro-tile, and spray deck.
During the 1990s, the market and therefore, the business turned toward interlocking brick pavers. That is when Sam and Laura's son, Dave, joined to carry on the family tradition. He focused on brick pavers and the company now did business as Hollywood Stone. In 2000, Dave purchased the company from Sam and Laura and has steadily grown the business to include interlocking brick pavers among other exterior stone and marble products. Hollywood Stone continues to deliver the quality, reliability, craftsmanship and service that was started by Dave's grandfather over 60 years ago and passed down through the generations.
